Good news for all you Tim Burton fans (like myself)! This American filmmaker – famous for his darkly comic films such as The Corpse Bride, Edward Scissorhands and Beetlejuice – gives you the chance to contribute to one of his stories. From November 22 until December 6, you can add a line to a story that has been posted on the website. To do this, you simply sign in with your Twitter account, type one or more lines to continue the story (but not more than 140 characters of course) and add #BurtonStory at the end of your lines. Or tweet it to @BurtonStory. The best tweets of the day will then be selected to build to story.

This recently launched storytelling project is called Cadavre Exquis – translated as Equisite Corpse – and means a method by which a collection of words or images is collectively assembled. The story itself began with the line “Stainboy, using his obvious expertise, was called in to investigate mysterious glowing goo on the gallery floor #BurtonStory”. Stainboy is a character which Tim Burton first introduced in a series of Flash animated shorts.

At the moment there has already been 19 lines added to that first sentence. To follow the story, you must simply click on the tab ‘read the story.’

Can you continue the story?
